March 18, 2014, Regular Session
The Nobles Board of Commissioners met in regular session at the Government Center in the City of Worthington. 
 Commissioners Marvin Zylstra, Matt Widboom, Gene Metz, Donald Linssen and Robert Demuth Jr. were in attendance.  • Approved amended agenda and proceedings of the March 4, 2014 County Board meeting. • Ed Busch, Highway Maintenance Superintendent, was acknowledged for the Excellence in Performance  Award. • Presented a certificate of appreciation to Janel Ewert, retiring Social Worker.  • Approved conditional use permit #03-2014 to Ryan Henning, Adrian MN and Brian Lindemann, Sioux Falls  SD for operation of a gravel pit.
 • Approved a TH60 Turnback agreement with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of  Transportation (MnDOT). • Approved an advertisement for bids for pavement marking services. • Approved a grant agreement in the amount of $3,500 with the National Association of County and City Health  Officials to support efforts of Nobles County Community Services Medical Reserve Corp. • Authorized the purchase of 15 burial plots with the Worthington Cemetery at the total cost of $3,375. • Approved a sponsorship for the Annual Regional Bioscience Conference in the amount of $1,500. • Appointed citizens to various Boards, Committees and Commissions. • Approved March 7, 2014 travel expenses. • Adopted a resolution to support HF2726 which repeals Assessor’s Certification requirements passed in 2013.
 • Approved an extension til May 31, 2014 with Trusight for the Professional Services Contract for the  classification and compensation study. • Students from areas schools attended the Board of Commissioners meeting as part of Nobles County Government Day. • Approved claims for payment totaling $592,272.49 • No further business, meeting adjourned at 10:44 a.m. The above represents a summary of the County Board actions on the listed date.
