WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred Tuesday in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and was reported at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday at the Law Enforcement Center.

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — The Dickinson County Sherif’f’s Office investigated a motorcycle accident at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday. Michael E. Loftis, 55, of Van Buren, Ind., was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson Motorcycle northbound on 240th Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle and slid into the west ditch. Loftis was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by ambulance with incapacitating injuries and then flown to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. The accident remains under investigation. Milford Police, Milford Fire & Rescue and Lake Regional Healthcare Ambulance assisted at the scene.


WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Ambulance was dispatched at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday to the 1700 block of South Shore Drive to assist a jogger who had collapsed.


WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a school bus arm violation reported at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday from Ninth Street and Eighth Avenue.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated the theft of a tire off a vehicle reported at 7:59 p.m. Tuesday from the 1000 block of Johnson Avenue.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a motor vehicle theft reported at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday from Scholtes Auto World.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department investigated a scam reported at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday from the 1700 block of Viking Road.

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Police Department cited a driver for a turning violation and exhibition driving at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday on Humiston Avenue.


Jodi and Dillon Robinson, Walnut Grove, are the parents of a boy, Grant Richard, born Aug. 3. Grandparents are John and Charlene Cooley, Westbrook, and Richard and Bernice Robinson, Big Stone City, S.D. Great-grandparents are Dick and Corky Robinson and Ronald Almjeld, all of Worthington.
