Adrian woman arrested on drug charges
ADRIAN — An Adrian woman was arrested Thursday on fifth-degree drug charges less than half a year after serving jail time for a similar offense.
Trang Nguyen, 38, had previously been arrested in June. A warrant was issued for her arrest Wednesday due to violation of the terms of her release.
Agents from the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force had executed a narcotics search warrant June 5 at Nguyen’s residence in Adrian. She was then arrested for fifth-degree controlled substance crime and methamphetamine crimes involving children, and was transported to Nobles County Jail.
Nguyen’s three children — at the time ages 14, 12 and 10 — were placed on emergency child protection hold and turned over to the custody of the Nobles County Community Services agency.
During an interview with the task force, Nguyen allegedly stated she believed her children were aware she used methamphetamine.
She was released from jail in July with conditions.
