Charges filed in the investigation of Buddz’s Sports Bar and Grill fire

SHELDON, Iowa - After an 11 month long joint investigation between the Sheldon Police Department and the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office in the the fire that destroyed Buddz’s Sports Bar and Grill on May 14, 2013,  has led to the arrest of two Sheldon residents on charges of arson.

Charges were filed against Kristina Manasil, 36, and Adam Sickles, 36, late last week in O’Brien County District Court. Both are charged with two counts of arson in the 1st degree, punishable by an indeterminate 25 year prison term.

Arrest warrants were issued by the court on Tuesday, and Sheldon Police Officers arrested Manasil and Sickles without incident.

Both defendants were taken into custody and transported to the O’Brien County Jail where bail has been set in the amount of $25,000.
