Kip Thorson hired as librarian at Minnesota West

Worthington – Minnesota West Community & Technical College has announced that Kip Thorson has been hired as the Distance Learning Liberian.  Thorson has his master’s degree from The University of Tennessee in Information Science.  He has most recently been a Librarian/Materials Manager, Instructional Materials at the University of Tennessee.  

Jeff Williamson, Provost at Minnesota West noted, “We are very excited to bring Kip back to the region as our distance learning librarian. He has over 10 years of experience working in higher education and academic settings. His familiarity with the region and mission of the college will help the college continue its dedication to serving the varied educational needs of our diverse populations in affordable, accessible and supportive settings.”

Minnesota West Community and Technical College offers more than 60 technical career and liberal arts majors on five southwest Minnesota campuses in Canby, Granite Falls, Jackson, Pipestone, and Worthington along with learning centers in Fairmont, Redwood Falls, Marshall and Luverne.  The College is a leader in distance learning and Internet delivery.  Minnesota West is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.
