Mountain Lake re-elects one, two new faces to serve on board of education

MOUNTAIN LAKE — After Tuesday’s contested District 173 Board of Education race, voters elected Matthew Gohr, David Bucklin and Audi Nickel to serve as the Mountain Lake Public School’s three-member board.

Gohr, who currently serves on the board, received 211 votes (22.96 percent), Bucklin earned 207 (22.52 percent) and Nickel got 171 (18.61 percent). Carolyn Karschnik, who was also vying for the seat, received 160 (17.41 percent) votes.

There were also 170 write-ins tallied.

The newly elected members of the board will officially take their seats Jan. 1, 2018.
