WORTHINGTON — The District 518 Board of Education terminated one of the district’s employees on Thursday.

The board voted unanimously to terminate employee Vonda LaPointe during its special board meeting Thursday morning. The board went into closed session, citing a personnel issue, to discuss and consider disciplinary action based on allegations made against LaPointe.

Because the board has right to discuss personnel issues in closed session, it is unknown what those allegations were.

In open meeting, board member Steve Schnieder made the motion to terminate LaPointe based on the district attorney's recommendation.

LaPointe was listed on the district’s website as a teacher in the community education building.
