Three Minnesota West students make All-Minnesota Academic Team
WORTHINGTON — Minnesota West Community and Technical College students Morgan LeBrun, Scott Schneider and Chris Syphokham have been named to the All-Minnesota Academic Team. These students were nominated by staff or faculty to apply for the team.
The All-State Academic Team was introduced nearly 24 years ago to honor and to recognize two-year college students for their leadership, academic achievement, and community and college service. In 1994, state academic teams were introduced as a way to provide scholarships and scholastic recognition to Phi Theta Kappa members while promoting excellence at two-year colleges.
LeBrun is a second-year student at Minnesota West, Worthington campus. She is currently pursuing her RN degree, having completed her LPN degree last year. She plans to attend Southwest Minnesota State University in the fall to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Schneider is a second-year student at Minnesota West, Worthington campus and will be graduating in May 2018. After graduation, Scott plans to further his education in engineering.
Syphokham has completed an A.A. degree in liberal arts from Minnesota West, Pipestone campus. He plans to transfer to Southwest Minnesota State University to major in music education.
The students were recognized at a formal recognition ceremony April 6 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. The 2018 All-Minnesota Academic Team consists of 46 outstanding students throughout the state of Minnesota each student representing a Minnesota Community and Technical College.
