Attempted robbery case still active

WORTHINGTON -- Law enforcement officers with the Worthington Police Department are continuing their investigation into a strong-armed robbery attempt that took place around 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of 15th Street.

The victim, a 29-year-old male, was reportedly riding his bicycle when he was jumped by three unknown assailants he described to authorities as African males.

The men, the victim reported, were in their early 20s, one wearing all black and one wearing all white. He described them as medium to tall with slim builds.

After pulling him off his bike, they demanded money, but the victim didn't have any cash with him.

"This is still an active, ongoing investigation," said Worthington Public Safety Director Mike Cumiskey.

If taken into custody, the men could face charges of attempted robbery and assault.
