Worthington Fareway participating in anti-hunger campaign
WORTHINGTON — The Fareway grocery store in Worthington is participating in the 2017 Bag Hunger Campaign, which runs through Nov. 18.
Customers are encouraged to pick-up a basket of non-perishable food items, which are available in the store. All donations will be accepted, with proceeds benefitting Manna Food Pantry.
The local effort is part of a national campaign from the Minnesota Grocers Association (MGA) to encourage consumers statewide to “bag hunger” in their neighborhoods by shopping at participating retailers. Since 2008, the MGA’s hunger campaigns have provided 36 million meals to families in Minnesota and has set a goal of 10 million meals for 2017.
