Letter: St. Mary's 'a place where we share in God's love'

By Nancy Johnson, Worthington

As St. Mary’s Kindergarten Round Up approaches, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage parents of kindergarten-age children to consider St. Mary’s School. You may check out our school on March 15 at 1 p.m. or 6 p.m.

I attended St. Mary’s School, I’ve been teaching here for 31 years, and I sent my children and my grandchildren there. Tuition was never an issue because of the Scrip Program. I was able to send my children and grandchildren without writing out a check to the school. Through this program, I buy groceries, buy gas and purchase items that I need in my daily life. The businesses I purchase from donate a percentage of what I purchase to the school. I also encouraged family and friends to also participate in this program. Every dollar counts!

District 518 has amazing teachers, as does St. Mary’s School. However, District 518 teachers are not allowed to share their faith with their students. In the world we live in, teaching children about God’s love is even more important. St. Mary’s School stands out above the rest! It’s a place where we share in God’s love.
