Dianna Lee Maas, 81, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Koda Living Community.

She was born November 20, 1936 in Worthington the daughter of Paul and Elsie (Koenen) Zierke. Dianna attended country school in Nobles County before graduating from Worthington High School in 1954. She completed 1 year of training at Mankato Commercial College in Mankato. On June 7, 1957 Dianna Zierke married Maynard Maas at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington. The couple lived in Pipestone and St. Cloud before moving to Owatonna in 1965. While in Owatonna, Dianna sold Avon for a short time. She then began her career of over 27 years with the Owatonna Public Schools where she worked in the nurses office and as a secretary, retiring in 1998.

Dianna was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for several years. Dianna enjoyed needlework, crafts, camping, traveling and playing cards. For many years she was a member of a card club that played 500 and enjoyed playing Bridge as well. Dianna enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved the tradition of making cookies with her grandchildren every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Dianna is survived by her husband, Maynard Maas of Owatonna; daughter, Pam (and William) Schultz of Owatonna, Peg (and Terry) Woods of Mankato, Paula Aldrich of Owatonna; grandchildren, Melynda (and Casey Washena) Schultz of Owatonna, Miranda (and Jacob) Wagner of Minnetonka, Ashley Woods of Birmingham, AL, Tyler Woods of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren, William and Cecilia Wagner; brothers, Daryle (and Gerri) Zierke, Dennis (and Janet) Zierke; sisters, Darlene Wiese, Donna (and Rodney) Scholtes, Dixie Rigby and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Maas; son-in-law, Ray Aldrich; 2 sisters, 1 half sister and 3 half brothers.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 1pm to 4pm and at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:30am at Redeemer Lutheran Church with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Lutheran Hour Ministries, Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch, Minot, ND or to the donor's choice.
