JANE A. LUTNER, age 97, of Worthington, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN. She was born December 5, 1919 in Worthington to parents Jacob and Tillie (Heidebrink) Rogers. Jane attended school in Reading and graduated from Worthington High School in 1938. After her schooling she worked as a bookkeeper at the Worthington Coop Oil Company.
Jane was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Lutner on April 16, 1943 in Wilmont, MN. After their marriage, they made their home in Worthington. After Kenneth was discharged from the Army they were engaged in farming. In 1954, they moved to Reading and she was a homemaker. They purchased the old grocery store and he also became Postmaster and Jane worked as a Postal Clerk. They sold the grocery store in 1981 and moved to Worthington.
She was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Reading and involved with the Bethel Women's Group. Jane was also a member of the Young Matrons. She enjoyed sewing, golfing, crocheting, fishing and making afghans for her family members.
Jane is survived by her children, Larry (Gloria) Lutner, Maple Grove, MN; Barbara (Lee) Holien, Montevideo, MN and Richard Lutner, Worthington, MN; four grandchildren, Shane (Lora) Lutner, Maple Grove, MN; Renae (Dan) Charbonneau, Chanhassen, MN; Patricia (Nathan) Jordahl, Watson, MN; and Tammy (Marshall) Schacherer, Dawson, MN; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sister Marilyn (Bob) Kock, Henderson, NV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Reading, Minn. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the church. Pastor Keith Gallagher will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington.
