Arneta T. Middendorf of Owatonna died February 20, 2018 at The Glenn - Hopkins. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. Friends may greet the family one hour prior the funeral liturgy. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited at 10:40 am at the church. Born Arneta Theresa Fuerstenberg on March 23, 1926 in Wilmont, MN the daughter of Henry and Magdalen (Kremer) Fuerstenberg. She attended school in Wilmont and later graduated from Worthington High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Wilbert May 1, 1946 at St. Kilian Catholic Church. The couple owned and operated a restaurant and bowling alley in Wilmont for many years. The couple relocated to Owatonna in 1966 and Arneta went to work for Jostens until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, women's council, Lay Carmelite and an honorary life member of the Elk's. Arneta volunteered at church as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the funeral committee for many years. Her life interest includes her family and grandchildren, playing cards and traveling. Arneta will be missed by her family John (Linda) Middendorf of Eden Prairie, MN, Janis Williams of Maple Grove, MN, James (Pat) Middendorf of Clayton, CA, Jerry (Carol) Middendorf of Dallas, GA and Jane (Bill) Huefner of Maple Grove, MN, nine grandchilden and five great grandchilden. Surviving siblings are Melvin (Agatha) Fuerstenberg of Worthington, MN and Dorothy Diekmann of Owatonna. Preceded in death by her husband Wilbert in 1997, one granddaughter, one brother and a son-in-law. Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Church, St. Mary's School or hospice.
