William "Bill" Johnson

William "Bill" Johnson

William Dee Johnson (Bill), age 58, moved to Heaven September 11, 2018. Bill lived in Worthington his entire life, most recently at Ridgewood where he was lovingly described as "The King". Bill worked at the Nobles County Day Activity Center for many years. He struggled with epilepsy and other medical problems during his life.

Bill had an enormous impact on his family and those whom he met. He taught us about compassion and dignity for all with disabilities and struggles. He taught us about patience and kindness. God gave Bill the gift for living each day without fretting about yesterday or tomorrow.

Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own".

God also blessed Bill with an incredible Mother who tirelessly watched over his life from day one.

Great acts of kindness and support were bestowed upon Bill from his family, from countless friends, health care providers and even strangers. They all know who they are. Many, Many, Many Thanks! Bill's family is grateful for the loving care that he received at Ridgewood.

Bill is survived by his mother Sally Ann, brothers Michael (Janelle), Steven (Teresa) and Thomas (Kristen), nieces/nephews Holly, Beth, Matthew, Erin, Kyle, Jason, Laura, Guy, Rosanna and Isabel. Bill was preceded in death by his father and very best buddy Donavon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington. Celebration of Bill's life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Daren I. Flinck officiating. Private family burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Benson Funeral Home of Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
