Betty A Kuyper, 96, passed away on October 26, 2018 at her home in Dallas Texas.

Betty Kuyper was born December 9, 1921 in Sioux Center, Iowa. She moved with her parents, Charles and Ruth Kuyper, to Rushmore in 1922, and to Worthington, MN in 1936.

Her education includes attending Worthington Junior College, graduation in 1941 from Mankato State Teachers College, attendance at Augustana College (Sioux Falls, IA), University of Wyoming, St. Cloud Teachers College with a BA 1957 and an MA in 1965.

Betty's education activities were serving as MEA National Conference delegate - Miami 1955; MEA County delegate - Atlantic City 1960; attending International Reading Association Conference - Sydney, Australia 1970; teaching in rural school - Nobles County three years, seven years in Foilah District, Ten years in Sioux Falls, SD, and 17 years as School librarian in North Branch, MN.

Her professional memberships encompass: 4-H Club, Association of University Women (AAUW); Association of Child Educators (ACE), Minnesota Education Association (MEA), National Education Association (NEA) - and a life-long-membership of the American Reformed Church in Worthington.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ruth Kuyper and her brother Arthur Kuyper. She is survived by her sister, Bonna Downum, her nieces and their spouses. Who now live in the Dallas-Ft Worth area.
