Letter: Senior Dining is another healthy eating option
By Neva Clausen, Luverne
Thank you for the Active Life supplement to the Daily Globe earlier this month. I especially enjoyed the article “Eating right for better health.” There were many good ideas for eating healthy. However, Senior Dining and home-delivered meals weren’t mentioned.
Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota provides a great meal every day, Monday through Friday, at the Senior Center in Worthington, Adrian and Luverne. It is an excellent way to get an affordable, delicious and nutritious meal including a protein, vegetables, fruit, bread and milk. Menus are published in the Daily Globe, Rock County Star Herald and Nobles County Review, with phone numbers to call for a reservation.
Meals are cooked at the central kitchen in Luverne at the Senior Center by excellent cooks.
I love getting out for dinner and socializing, playing cards or other activities at the center. Getting out of washing dishes and cleaning up the kitchen are OK, too!
