08/19/2008 12:00 AM WORTHINGTON — After playing at No. 4 singles last season, Worthington’s Sameera Nalla will have a new challenge this season: No. 1 singles.
“We lost a lot of seniors last year,” Nalla said. “But we’re just going to have to bring it up a notch. We have to keep getting our shots and have fun.”
With a small squad, having fun and getting along hasn’t been a problem for the young Trojans.

After a premature victory celebration in the bottom of the ninth, the Bulls suffered a disheartening 6-2 loss to New London-Spicer (13-14) in 13 innings Sunday in the first round of the state tournament.

At No. 2 singles, Van Hove won her first match 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, before losing her second match 4-6, 2-6 to finish second.
