Lindaman paces Chargers at triangular (golf wrap-up)

WESTBROOK -- Jared Lindaman shot a medalist round of 40 to pace the host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers to victory Thursday afternoon at the W-WG Triangular golf meet at the Rolling Hills Golf Course.

The Chargers (11-2) totaled 168 as a team to win the event, while the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots (187) grabbed second place and the Round Lake-Brewster Raiders (193) finished third.

Charger teammate Patrick Schweim followed Lindaman with a round 41, while Derek Eichner and Aaron Theisen posted rounds of 42 and 45, respectively, to complete W-WG's team score.

The Patriots were paced by Andrew Scholten, who carded a round of 42. Caleb Ellingson was second best for the Pats with a round of 43. Caleb Schroer truned in a 50, and Austin Rauk rounded out H-BC's team score with a 52.

Erik Bourquin's round of 45 led the Raiders on the day. Tim Haberman and Cole Baumgard followed, each shooting 47, while Craig Correll posted a 54 to complete the Raiders' team score.

W-WG travels to Sanborn today as they square off against Red Rock Central.

Luverne Triangular

LUVERNE -- The Windom Eagle boys and Luverne girls came out on top at Thursday's Luverne Triangular golf meet.

The Windom boys posted a team score of 162 to win the event, followed by Jackson County Central (167) and Luverne (175).

Jordan Stahl paced the Eagle boys with a solid round of 39. Hunter Johnson, Jared Hager and Tate Lindvall rounded out the team score with rounds of 41 apiece.

Tanner Asa carded a 38 on the day to medal and lead the JCC boys. Scott Benson was second best for the Huskies, turning in a round of 39. Pat Garvin and Colton Ward shot 44 and 46, respectively.

The Cardinals were paced by Cody Hemme with a round of 41. Daniel Hup posted a 43, while Skyler Hoiland and Dylan Skattum shot 44 and 47, respectively, to complete the team score.

On the girls' side, the Cardinals and Eagles had to go to the fifth score to decide the winner. The Cardinals' fifth score was one better than that of the Eagles, giving Luverne (5-1) the victory.

Luverne and Windom each scored 193, while JCC scored a 208.

The Cardinals were led by Kaia Nowatzki, who shot a team-best 44. Missy Olson followed with a round of 47, while Jessica Dorhout turned in a round of 50. The Cardinals' fifth and sixth scores were the same as their fourth, as Erika Rust, Krista Van Dyk and Lexi Kindt each posted rounds of 52.

Casey Christensen shot a medalist round of 43 to pace the Eagles. April Buhler, Ashley Jackson and Michelle Legler each shot 50 on the day, while Sabrina Bolin shot a 53 for the Huskies fifth score.

The Huskies were led by Briel Hendrickson with a round of 50. Erica Voss and Kaylee Benson each shot 51, and Rachel Hanson posted a 56 to complete the team score.

Boys SSC 189, SWC 208

LAKEFIELD -- Brady Hall shot a medalist round of 40 to lead the Southwest Star Concept Quasars to a Red Rock Conference golf victory Thursday afternoon.

Jeremy Luebben followed with a 49, while Cory Pelzel and Jared Pomerenke shot 49 and 53, respectively.

The Southwest Christian Eagles were led by Kaiser DeKam, who shot 46 on the day. Bryce Schelhaas was two off the pace with a 48. Dustin Oberloh carded a 54, while Kyle DeBoer finished with a 60.

Girls Adrian 214, SSC 233

LAKEFIELD -- Kelsey Altman shot a 50 to pace the Dragons to victory Thursday afternoon. Brittany Loosbrock was second best with a 52, and Brianna McCarthy and Carmen Wieneke finished with rounds of 56 apiece.

Elizabeth Paul carded a round of 52 to lead the Quasars. Nicole Mueller followed with a round of 54, while Ally Lenz and Aeriel Nitch completed the team score with rounds of 56 and 71, respectively.

Southwest Christian's Emaleigh Vreeman was the medalist on the day, shooting a round of 44. Teammate Jenni VanderVeen, the only other SWC golfer, shot a 48.
