SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Lane Gehl scored 25 points, and Mari Holinka added 19 points and 12 rebounds Saturday to lead Fulda to a 71-61 victory over Summit, which is ranked No. 2 in South Dakota's Class B.

"It was a big win," Fulda coach Gregg Slaathaug said. "We're still trying to turn the corner, and we haven't turned it yet, but we're getting close."

Courtney Hulstein scored eight points and Amy Paulzine pulled down 10 rebounds for Fulda, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

The Raiders led 31-28 going into the intermission and opened the second half on a 22-3 run, during which Michelle Goedtke and Brittany Hulstein led a stifling defensive effort, to take a 22-point lead.

Summit never was able to recover, and Fulda cruised to a non-conference victory.

Fulda outrebounded Summit 53-33.

The Raiders (11-8) will return to Red Rock Conference action on Tuesday when they travels to face the Murray County Central Rebels.

Adrian 67, WC 49

ADRIAN -- Sam Lynn had 24 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and five steals to lead the Dragons past West Central, the defending South Dakota Class A champions.

Erica Thier added 18 points, six assists and six rebounds, and Karli Meyer had 12 points and seven rebounds for Adrian, which jumped out to a 42-22 lead at halftime.

The Dragons, who remained undefeated, extending their winning streak to 18 games, shot 57 percent (26-for-46) from the field and held West Central (10-8) to 29 percent (17-for-58) shooting.

Adrian (18-0) will travel to face Worthington tonight.

MARSHALL -- Thea Engen had 24 points, nine rebounds, five steals and four blocks to lead Red Rock Central to a non-conference victory.

Krystle Sell added 23 points and seven assists, and Steph Maras had eight rebounds to lead the Falcons, who shot 50 percent (27 of 54) from the field and 46.6 percent (7 of 15) from beyond the arc.

Lakeview (13-5) shot 50 percent (25 of 50) from the field and 23 percent (3 of 13) from beyond the arc.

It was the fourth consecutive victory for RRC, which led by as many as 24 points in the second half. Lakeview pulled to within nine points late in the game but couldn't get any closer.

RRC (15-3) will host Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin on Tuesday.

ST. PETER -- Jackson County Central recorded a steal with 10 seconds remaining in the game but missed the potential game-tying shot on the other end.

Brittney Kruse scored 14 points, and Brooke Burmeister had 14 rebounds to lead the Huskies in the loss.

JCC, which led 29-26 at halftime, made just 12 of 28 free throws.

The Huskies (17-5), who had their eight-game winning streak snapped, will host Windom on Tuesday.

GRANITE FALLS -- Bailey Bouman scored 20 points, and Rachel Tinklenberg had eight points and seven rebounds to lead Pipestone Area to a victory over Yellow Medicine East.

Bree Woelber added seven points and seven assists for the Arrows, who shot 45.7 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free-throw line.

Aimee Johnson scored 11 points to lead YME (8-6), which entered having won five of its past six games.

Pipestone Area (14-3) will host Jackson County Central on Friday.

MARSHALL -- Tyler Erickson scored 18 points, and Brian Benedict added 16 to lead Red Rock Central to a non-conference victory.

Jake Fredrickson scored 12 points, and Aaron Furth added 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons, who won despite being outrebounded 42-25, allowing 21 offensive rebounds and scoring just two points in the final four minutes.

RRC led 52-36 with nine minutes remaining in the game.

The Falcons went 23-for-52 shooting (44 percent) from the field, including 9-for-23 from beyond the arc, while holding Lakeview to 28.3 percent shooting (19-for-67) from the field.

RRC (5-11) will host Sleepy Eye tonight.

REMSEN, Iowa -- Trevor Gruis had 23 points, eight assists, six rebounds, five steals and three blocks to lead the Panthers past Remsen St. Mary's.

Tom Nolte added 15 points, and Adam Van Der Stoep and Dalton Huisman each added 12 points for Ellsworth, which had 10 players score.

The Panthers, who opened the game on a 21-7 run, shot 48.2 percent (28 of 58) from the field. Remsen St. Mary's shot 22 percent (10 of 45).

The Panthers forced 21 turnovers and held Remsen St. Mary's to just eight points in the second half.

GRANITE FALLS -- Pipestone Area took a three-point lead into the intermission before holding Yellow Medicine East to just two points in the first nine minutes of the second half en route to a non-conference victory.

Bryce Beyers, Shelby Jones and Eric Stark each scored 15 points for the Arrows, who opened the second half on a 23-5 run.

Stark added 12 rebounds, Jones had eight rebounds and five assists, and Jason Nettik dished out six assists for Pipestone Area, which shot 67 percent and held YME to 36 percent from the field in the game.

The Arrows (9-8) will host Marshall on Tuesday.
