PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Halbur runs for 200 yards as Rebels win big, 43-0

COTTONWOOD -- There wasn't much stopping Chris Halbur.

A senior on Murray County Central's football team, Halbur scored three touchdowns and amassed 200 yards -- on a mere six carries -- leading the Rebels to a 43-0 victory against Lakeview Thursday night.

The game was called at halftime due to lightning.

Halbur started the scoring for the Rebels with a 63-yard run in the first quarter, and Mitch Reinsma scored from two yards out, giving MCC a 13-0 lead after the first quarter.

But the Rebels exploded in the second quarter.

Grant Bose returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown, Jack Thony scored from 10 yards out and Halbur had two long runs, giving MCC a big lead.

Halbur scored on a 53-yard run and then ran in the two-point conversion before scoring from 51 yards out in what proved to be the final score of the game.

Devin Miranowski and Austin Kluis each had 10 tackles for MCC. The Rebels (3-4) host Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Wednesday night.

MINNEOTA -- Adrian not only suffered its first loss of the season, but was shut out against a tough Minneota/Lincoln HI squad.

The Vikings received (6-1) received a pair of rushing touchdowns from Adam Josephson (25 rushes for 143 yards), one rushing touchdown from Jacob Bottelberghe (seven rushes for 70 yards) and a five-yard interception return by David Noyes to account for the scoring in the game.

Minneota/Lincoln HI rushed for a total of 301 and quarterback Austin Buysse was 5-for-10 passing for 87 yards and one interception.

The Dragons (6-1) were only able to manage 81 rushing yards on 39 attempts. Jordan Dingmann led the team with seven rushes for 39 yards, Nate Lynn had 15 rushes for 23 yards and Zach Albertson rushed for 15 yards on three carries.

Mitchell Sieve was 5-for-14 passing for Adrian for 47 yards and one interception. Kyle Kilgore had four receptions for 33 yards and Nate Loosbrock had one 14-yard reception.

The Vikings will play at Montevideo on Wednesday and the Dragons will host Canby on the same day.
