BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Herominus drops 33 points during win over Jackson County

LUVERNE -- Brett Heronimus shot 61 percent from the field for 33 points and picked up 10 rebounds as the Luverne Cardinals boys basketball team outlasted the Jackson County Central Huskies 62-56 in Southwest Conference matchup Friday.

The Huskies carried a six-point lead into halftime, but the Cardinals dropped 38 points in the second to secure the comeback win.

Matthew Arends had 13 points, three rebounds and four assists for the Cardinals, while Josh Slieter added eight and four rebounds.

Jon Harmening had 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Huskies, while Taylor Christopher added 14 points, two assists and four rebounds. Shadrack Wacker picked up seven points and Darnell Taylor-Breck had six.

Luverne (2-1, 1-0) travels to Worthington to take on the Trojans Tuesday, while Jackson (2-1, 0-1) takes on Redwood Valley Thursday in Redwood Falls.

TRACY --Matt LaVoy led the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers boys basketball team with 14 points and five rebounds in a victory over the Murray County Central Rebels Friday.

The Panthers jumped out to a 31-12 lead at halftime and cruised the rest of the way for the win.

Parker Lanoue had nine points and six rebounds for the Panthers, while Jordan Lanoue also had nine points and five rebounds. Alex Swan and Anthony Vue both picked up seven points for T-M-B.

Jack Thony led the Rebels with nine points, five rebounds and three steals, while Seth Bass had nine points. Cole Bly added five points and five rebounds and Mitch Reinsma had five points.

T-M-B (1-0) hosts Lincoln High Tuesday, while MCC (0-3) travels to Adrian Tuesday.

Sioux Center 88, S-O 41

SIBLEY, Iowa -- Dalton Frick picked up 12 points for the Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals in a loss to Sioux Center Friday in boys basketball action.

The Generals trailed by six after the first quarter, but Sioux Center pilled on 33 points in the second to make it 50-21.

Hanna Ty was the only other General in double-digits in the game with 10 points.

Sibley-Ocheyedan (0-4) travels to West Lyon Tuesday.
