PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Harris-Lake Park routs Sibley-Ocheyedan

LAKE PARK, Iowa -- Eli Ihnen scored 28 points, including three 3-pointers and 7-for-9 on free throws, to lead Harris-Lake Park to its 10th straight win following a non-conference victory over Sibley-Ocheyedan on Thursday night.

The Wolves, who have already clinched the Cornbelt Conference championship and host Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven Ayrshire today in their final league game, made 16 of 20 free throws. The Generals also shot well in limited chances at the stripe, going 5-for-7.

Harris-Lake Park (17-1 overall) also received a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double from Tanner Hiveley, while Colin Brons turned in nine points and nine rebounds and Kade Heikens had 10 assists and eight points.

Grant Juber led the Generals with eight points. Sibley-Ocheyedan (1-17) hosts Boyden-Hull in a Siouxland Conference game today.

Following H-LP's league finale tonight, the Iowa Class 1A, fifth-ranked Wolves travel to Round Lake for a "border battle" with Southwestern United on Tuesday.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 62

TRACY -- Four players reached double-digit scoring as the Luverne Cardinals held off the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers' second-half rally in a non-conference game Thursday.

Josh Slieter (six rebounds) paced Luverne (13-5) with 17 points. He was followed by Matt Arends with 14 points, while Blake Ziegler and Matt Overgaard (four assists) added 11 points each.

Alex Weis and Brett Heronimus had eight points apiece, while Heronimus also had 11 rebounds and three assists for the Cardinals, who travel to Marshall tonight for a Southwest Conference game.

T-M-B (5-11) was led by Alec Swan, who finished with 19 points and three assists. Josh Kirk totaled 14 points and nine rebounds, while Parker Lanoue added 13 points, four assists and five rebounds.

The Panthers host Windom Area in a non-league game Monday.
