Amateur baseball: Dingmann leads Adrian past Windom

WINDOM -- Zach Dingmann took control of the Windom Pirates on the pitcher's rubber while Colin Sandbulte and Glen Kruger led the way the bats, and the Adrian A's came away with a 6-1 victory in amateur baseball Wednesday night.

Dingmann pitched six innings en route to the decision, walking no one and striking out 10 batters. Sandbulte was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Kruger was 2-for-3 with a double.

For Windom, now 0-4 on the season, Matt Anderson and Brett Mattson each collected two hits and Kirby Johnson doubled.

Tyler Knutson was the losing pitcher.

Wilmont 3, Fox Lake 2

WILMONT --Lucas Henning rapped a pair of singles to account for two-thirds of the Wilmont Cardinals' hits, and he also picked up the save as Wilmont edged Fox Lake 3-2.

Joe Ahrens went five innings and was the winning pitcher.

Heron Lake 7, Lakefield 5

LAKEFIELD -- Alex Meyer was 4-for-5 with four doubles and a pair of RBI, leading Heron Lake (6-3) past Lakefield. Teammates Luke Henkels and Eric Milbrath added a pair of hits apiece, with Henkels collecting a double and Milbrath stealing a base.

Lon Eichenberger was the winning pitcher and Ben Scheevel recorded a save. The game ended with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Tanner Menke hit a two-run homer for Lakefield in the bottom of the first inning and Nolan Luhmann added three hits, but it wasn't enough.

Bryce Christopher took the loss.
