Sports Briefs: Storm sweep Martin County West

WELCOME — The Worthington 18U Storm fast pitch softball team swept a doubleheader against Martin County West to finish off the season before the start of the state tournament this weekend. 

Worthington won the first game 9-4 behind a strong pitching performance by Paige Kinley. Kinley allowed just five hits and struck out four batters in the game.

Rebecca Kazemba went 2-for-2 at the plate in the four-inning game to lead the offense for the Storm.

In Game 2, Brooke Klontz pitched a no-hitter with six strikeouts to power Worthington to an 8-0 win.

Kinley went 3-for-3 in the second game with two doubles and a triple to lead the Storm offense. Klontz also had a triple in the game.

The Storm play Red Lake Falls Saturday in the opening round of the state playoffs in Monticello.
