Amateur baseball: Hadley, Jackson exit at state

SHAKOPEE -- Hadley and Jackson made their exits in the Minnesota state Class C baseball tournament over the weekend. Hadley lost to Buckman 7-5 in Shakopee on Saturday and Jackson lost to Sobieski 2-0 on Sunday, also in Shakopee.

The Bulls were held to just one hit by Sobieski pitcher Jack Hegarty, who threw the full nine innings, walking one and striking out 15.

Tyler Tennyson, Ryan Rasche and Ray Zalabowski all pitched for Jackson.

Buckman drew first blood against the Buttermakers, scoring three runs in the second inning. Hadley came back with two in the third, but the Billygoats scored twice in the fifth and the sixth to take command.

Blake Rogers had three hits for Hadley, and Derek Lieser had two.

Brandan Alfson and Ryan Christopher saw mound duty for Hadley in the Buttermakers’ first game of the tournament. Jackson won one tournament game, tripping Lake Henry 3-2 on Aug. 18.
