Minnesota West celebrates diversity with World Market

WORTHINGTON -- The Culture Corner of Minnesota West Community & Technical College is hosting Worthington's World Market, a free event from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Commons building on the Minnesota West campus.

Le Lucht, coordinator of diversity and multicultural affairs at Minnesota West, said about 12 to 15 area businesses will be on hand to showcase their products and services to students and the public.

"A lot of people never go into downtown businesses, (so it's) a way to connect them with the community and show the rich diversity we have," Lucht said.

Light refreshments will be served. Entertainment starts about 6 p.m., and includes singers, dancers, guitarists and pianists, Lucht said.

She said the event, which coincides with National Hispanic Heritage Month, is about bringing the community together to partake in the rich cultural diversity that Southwest Minnesota has to offer.
