PREP GIRLS' HOCKEY: Wenzel records shutout as LHS rolls past RV 6-0

LUVERNE -- Lauren Christensen had a hat-trick and Autumn Wenzel had a shutout in goal to lead the Luverne girls' hockey team over Redwood Valley 6-0 Thursday night.

One of Christensen's goals came while LHS was short-handed. She also had an assist in the game.

Alizabeth Goldie added a goal and an assist for Luverne, and goals from Morgan Sommers and Ellen Dahl accounted for the other two scores. Makayla Sterrett contributed two assists.

Wenzel had 16 saves, with the Cardinals outshooting RV 32-16.

The game was rescheduled from Dec. 11 due to the blizzard that occurred the same day.

Luverne will play the MSO Icebergs in the Dodge County Shootout holiday tournament in Rochester on Tuesday.
