PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL: Nissen scores with 12 seconds left to keep H-LP perfect

LAKE PARK, Iowa -- Brady Nissen scored all eight of his points in the fourth quarter and knocked down the game-winning shot with a baseline jumper with 12 seconds left to help Harris-Lake Park claim a 42-40 Cornbelt Conference win over West Bend-Mallard.

H-LP (14-0, 7-0) survived a scare to remain undefeated as the Wolves trailed most of the game and by as much as eight (36-28) with five minutes left in the contest before rallying with a 14-4 run in the closing minutes.

Eli Ihnen led the Wolves in scoring with 18 points, while he and Nissen each grabbed seven rebounds.

Kade Heikens chipped in five points, six assists and two steals for H-LP, which travels to Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne Friday.

SIBLEY, Iowa -- Harrison Feldkamp and Caleb Hartwig each totaled a double-double for the Generals as Sibley-Ocheyedan overcame a two-point halftime deficit to beat the Sheldon Orabs in a Siouxland Conference contest.

Feldkamp totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Hartwig had 14 points and 10 boards.

S-O (3-9, 3-8), which travels to Rock Valley Friday, also had Casey Hertz with 12 points.

Matt Dykstra scored 10 points to lead Sheldon (8-5, 7-4), while Trevor Johnson chipped in nine points.

The Orabs host George-Little Rock Friday.

TRACY -- Parker Lanoue scored a game-high 26 points for the Panthers but it wasn't enough as Tracy-Milroy-Balaton was thwarted in the Camden Conference by Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (11-1, 7-0).

Three players scored in double figures for the Knights in the win as Travis King dropped 13 points, Dylan Kor went double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Brett Peterson had 10 points.

In addition to Lanoue, T-M-B (6-6, 5-2) had Brian Fultz with 12 points and seven rebounds and Taylor Hoffbeck with eight points.

The Panthers travel to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Friday, while the Knights host MACCRAY the same night.

EDGERTON -- Five players scored in double digits for Southwest Christian as the Eagles posted 53 first-half points in a lopsided Red Rock Conference win over the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers.

Andrew Top (five rebounds, four assists) led SWC with 16 points, while Zach Huisken totaled 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four blocks.

The Eagles also had Klint Knutson with 13 points, Leighton Sampson with 12 points and Dominic Nibbelink with 10 points.

The Chargers were led by Jacob Comnick (five rebounds) with 11 points, while Taylor Lindaman and Andy Merrick (four rebounds) each totaled eight points.

Both teams are in action Friday as SWC (9-1, 6-0) travels to Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin and W-WG (1-10, 0-6) is at Ellsworth.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- The Wolverines received 20 points and eight rebounds from Carter Kirk as Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin beat Edgerton to keep pace with Southwest Christian atop the Red Rock Conference standings.

Cody Penner added 16 points for ML/B-O (12-1, 6-0), while Beau Herrig had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Edgerton (1-8, 1-6) was led by Johnny Menning with 12 points.

Both teams host games Friday as the Wolverines battle for the conference lead with SWC, while the Flying Dutchmen have Round Lake-Brewster.

SLAYTON -- In a game that went down to the wire, Southwest Star Concept's Jameson Collin knocked down a jump shot and made his free throws after being fouled to take the lead for the Quasars, securing a Red Rock Conference win over the Murray County Central Rebels.

Collin paced the visitors with a game-high 28 points and 13 rebounds.

Andrew Kramer added 21 points and eight rebounds for SSC (7-4, 3-3), while Luke Henkels dropped in 10 points.

MCC (6-4, 4-2) had five players in double-digits scoring -- Trent Carlson (16), Chris Halbur (15), Sam Nysetvold (12), Nate Wieneke (11) and Sam Beech (11).

Halbur grabbed nine rebounds and Wieneke dished out six assists for the Rebels.

MCC travels to Fulda Thursday, while SSC hosts Fulda Friday.

ROUND LAKE -- Dylan Gehrke led the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots to a big Red Rock Conference road win over the Round Lake-Brewster Raiders with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds.

Seth Nuffer (14 points) and Jeff Sandbulte (11 points) also scored in double figures for the Patriots, while Jordan Larson dished out six assists.

Jake Walker led the Raiders with 21 points, followed by Brady Meyer with nine points.

Cole Bosma distributed five assists and Cody Dean grabbed five rebounds for RL-B.

Both teams are on the road Friday night as H-BC (4-8, 3-4) is at Red Rock Central and RL-B (0-12, 0-6) goes to Edgerton.

Fulda 68, Ellsworth 49

FULDA -- The Raiders bounced back from a loss to Worthington Monday night by taking it to the Ellsworth Panthers Tuesday night in the Red Rock Conference.

Fulda (10-4, 5-1) built an 11-point halftime lead, en route to the 19-point victory and was led by Matt Appel's 20 points and nine rebounds.

Additionally, the Raiders received a nice night from Aaron Tiesler with 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Todd Peterson added nine points.

Ellsworth (8-6, 2-4) was led by Dalton Huisman with 17 points and John Kramer with nine points.

Fulda travels to Southwest Star Concept Friday, while Ellsworth hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove the same night.
