BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Fulda stuns Mountain Lake Area

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Fulda upset Mountain Lake Area 68-61 on the final night of Red Rock Conference action Monday.

The Raiders built a 31-29 lead at halftime and were able to pull away in the second half 37-32.

Andy Oakland led Fulda (9-17, 7-9) with 25 points. Todd Peterson added 22 more and Zach Holt chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds.

Carter Kirk scored 32 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and created five assists to lead the Wolverines (20-5, 14-2) and Josiah Stoesz added 15 points and eight rebounds.

Hills-Beaver Creek 72, Westbrook-Walnut Grove 54

HILLS -- Dylan Gehrke had 26 points and 12 rebounds as Hills-Beaver Creek rallied to defeat Westbrook-Walnut Grove in a Red Rock Conference game Monday.

The Chargers led 33-31 at halftime before the Patriots went on a 41-21 second-half run.

Carey Taubert (13 points), Jeff Sandbulte (12 points) and Jon Gallagher (12 rebounds, five blocks) also helped H-BC (13-10, 10-6 RRC).

Aaron Hass (12 points) and Taylor Lindaman (10 points) led Westbrook-Walnut Grove (9-15, 5-11).

Southwest Christian 86, Adrian 31

EDGERTON -- Southwest Christian celebrated an undefeated Red Rock Conference championship after routing Adrian on Monday.

The Eagles were in control much of the way, leading 45-16 at halftime. Southwest Christian won the second half 41-15.

Leighton Sampson led Southwest Christian (23-1, 16-0) with 22 points. Klint Knutson chipped in 17 points, while Gabe Vander Veen returned from a nine-game stint on injured reserve to score 12 more. Jake Robinson added nine markers.

Nick Reyne led Adrian (3-21, 3-13) with 18 points and five rebounds, while Taylor Recker added 10 points and eight rebounds. Brady Lonneman had seven rebounds for the Dragons.

Redwood Valley 60, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 33

REDWOOD FALLS -- The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers finished the regular season with a 7-17 record following a 60-33 non-conference loss Monday to Redwood Valley.

Alec Swan led the Panthers with 10 points, while Parker Lanoue and Josh Kirk added eight points each. Kirk and Brett Swenhaugen finished with six rebounds each and Jordan Lanoue delivered two assists and a steal.

Alec Koster paced the Cardinals with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Ten players scored for Redwood Valley, which is 20-5 overall.

T-M-B is seeded sixth in the Section 3AA North playoffs. The Panthers travel to play No. 3 Montevideo Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
