Prep Golf: JCC golfers victorious

JACKSON -- Joe Brinkman and Kyle Christopher each carded 42s to lead the Jackson County Central boys golf team to a 172-203 victory over Pipestone Area Thursday, and Lexie Hoffman and Alison Benson each totaled 46 strokes to pace the JCC girls squad.

Kyle Edlin aided the Huskies' boys effort with a 43. Teammate Jack Ringkob had a 45.

For Pipestone Area, Brock Morgan and A.J. Bucher both had 49s, while Zach Ploeger had a 52 and Trent Van Rokel a 53.

Abby Brinkman had a 47 and Emma Lilleberg a 48 for JCC's girls.

Only one girl competed for Pipestone Area, Laurel Morgan, who had a 58.

MCC boys, Adrian girls win Adrian Invite

ADRIAN -- Ben Loosbrook shot a 39 to lead the Murray County Central Rebels to first place in the boys' division of the Adrian Golf Invite, while Marissa Veld shot a 47 in the girls division to lead the Adrian Dragons to a first place finish Thursday.

Behind the Rebels' first place score of 166 on the leaderboard were the Adrian Dragons with a 180, while the Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots scored a 190.

The Rebels were led by low medalist Ryan Elias (38), while Jeff Sandbulte (43) led the Patriots.

On the girls' side, the Dragons shot a 204 as a team, while the Rebels scored a 214 to take second.

Veld was the low medalist for the girls, while teammate Katie Wieneke shot a 50 on the day. Murray County Central's Hannah Davis also shot a 50 to lead the Rebels.

Chargers top Eagles at W-WG Invite

WESTBROOK --The Westbrook-Walnut Grove boys' golf team took down Southwest Christian/Edgerton to claim their tenth win of the season Thursday at Rolling Hills Golf Course.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove took first place at the invite after shooting a 166 as a team, while Southwest Christian/Edgerton finished with a 209.

The Chargers' Dana Madson was the low medalist with a 39, while Tadd Van't Hof led the Eagles with a 44.
