Prep Track: Thony wins trio of events

SLAYTON -- Murray County Central's Jack Thony won a trio of events Monday at the MCC Invitational track and field meet.

Thony won the 100-meter dash (11.63), 200-meter dash (22.82) and long jump (19-7.5) to lead the Rebels boys.

Southwest Christian's Austin LaFollette won both the 110-meter hurdles (16.7) and 300-meter hurdles (42.17).

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton's Matt LaVoy won both the 1,600 (4:59.3) and 3,200 (11:21.08).

Other individual winners on the boys' side included Pipestone Area's Sawyer Pals (400, 52.99), SWC's Dillon Mulske (800, 2:15.54), MCC's Tanner Nepp (shot put, 48-9.5), T-M-B's Tommy Nelson (discus, 131-1), Adrian's Taylor Recker (high jump, 6-0), Fulda's Alex Holmes (pole vault, 11-0) and T-M-B's Brett Swenhaugen (triple jump, 39-5).

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's Jada Carr won three events on the girls' side, winning the 200 (27.59), long jump (16-0.5) and triple jump (35-0).

MCC's Hannah Schmidt (100, 13.95) and Paris Thomas (100 hurdles, 18.54) each won an event, as did Adrian's Nicole Slater (400, 1:02.53) and Jordin Kopplow (800, 2:24.68).

Other individual winners for the girls were Fulda's Micaela Paulzine (pole vault, 7-6), T-M-B's Kendra Ludeman (high jump, 4-10), T-M-B's Kassidy Przymus (discus, 100-6), SWC's Kelly Tinklenberg (shot put, 31-8), PA's Maria Spanier (300 hurdles, 48.69), SWC's Elise Ver Hey (3,200, 14:12.92) and T-M-B's Cassie Hook (1,600, 5:55.49).
