Boys basketball: Pipestone Area edges Windom Area, JCC nipped in OT


WINDOM — Pipestone Area outrebounded Windom Area and finished well in its boys basketball game Thursday night on the road.

The Arrows worked the low block well to defeat the Eagles 53-52.

Collin Moeller led PA with 20 points. Justin Rops scored 11.

Jacob Gotto led WA with 15 points and four assists. Sam Huska scored 14. Bryce Bever scored 12 and collected 10 rebounds.

Windom Area fell to 2-4 overall and 0-3 in Southwest Conference contention. Pipestone Area moved to 1-1 in the SWC and is 2-2 overall.

JACKSON — Jackson County Central fell in a close overtime game to Redwood Valley.

The Cardinals outscored JCC 5-0 in the overtime period to secure the win.

Jon Harmening led the Huskies with 21 points and 17 boards. Darnell Taylor-Breck scored 17 points and handed out six assists. JCC’s Colton Timmer scored 16 points.

San Pendleton scored 17 points and Thane Windmer added 17 for Redwood Valley.

JCC fell to 2-3 overall and an even 1-1 in the SWC.
