Girls hockey: Fairmont routs Trojans, Luverne defeats Marshall

FAIRMONT —Fairmont used seven first period goals to pull away from Worthington in a girls hockey game Tuesday night.

The Cardinals defeated the Trojans 15-1 on their home ice.

Freshman center Taylor Nuss achieved a hat trick for Fairmont while Jalyssa Wilson added two scores of her own in the win.

Worthington’s goal came as Allison Kramer took a solo shot at the 14:47 mark of the second period. Amanda Bristow had 64 saves in net for the Trojans, who dropped to 0-6.

Worthington travels to Luverne for a 5:30 p.m. contest Thursday night.

MARSHALL —The Luverne Cardinals hit three goals in the second period, helping them pull away from Marshall on the road.

Luverne earned the 5-2 win on the road.

Mariah Aukes and Makayla Sterrett each scored two goals for the Cards while Madisyn Dingmann added one.

In the net, Emilie Bartels had a dozen saves for Luverne.
