Gymnastics: JCC tops 137 to edge Windom/Mountain Lake
JACKSON — Host Jackson County Central scored an impressive 137.45 points to outscore Southwest Conference rival Windom Area/Mountain Lake Tuesday in high school gymnastics.
Windom Area/ML had 133.05 points.
Three different Huskies won individual events. Haley Bass was a winner on the uneven parallel bars (8.425) and balance beam (9.3) while teammates Abby Schneekloth won vault (9.075) and Brooklyn Schuett the floor exercise (9.25). Bass scored 35.325 to win the all-around competition.
Individual seconds were turned in by JCC’s Schuett on the bars (8.3), Megan Theesfeld on beam (8.95), Makenna Donnelli on floor (9.125) and Windom Area’s Hannah Kloss on vault (9.05).
The triumph moves Jackson County Central to 5-1 in duals, including 3-0 in the conference.
St. James at Luverne
LUVERNE — Outscoring St. James 123.050 to 101.625, Luverne won three individual events. Bergin Flom won the vault with an 8.8, Madi Schandelmeier won the uneven parallel bars with 7.850 and Sam Pierce won on the floor exercise, with an 8.5.
Glenda Hector of St. James won on the balance beam with a 7.450.
Pierce placed first in the all-around with 31.825.
