Section 2A boys basketball: BOLD squeaks past T-M-B

GRANITE FALLS — In a hard-fought game, the BOLD Warriors overcame the Tracy-Milroy-Balton Panthers, 60-56, in North North Section 3AA girls basketball play.

Carly Sigurdson led BOLD with 24 points, and following closely was Baylie Kubesh with 22. The duo scored all but 14 points for the Warriors, the next closest player being Ashley Scmitz with four.

For T-M-B, the scoring was more spread out, with Cassie Hook leading with 14 points, followed by Jessie Nelson with nine, and Kaylee Kirk and Sammie Gervais with eight apiece.

“Our girls played hard tonight,” T-M-B head coach Derek Ashbaugh said. “We ran into a good, experienced team, and our inexperience shone through tonight.”

BOLD goes on to play the number three seed Redwood Valley on Saturday in Montevideo.

“BOLD played good ball,” Ashbaugh said. “We ran up a little short against them, but we lost to a very good team tonight.”
