Prep baseball: Bos fires one-hitter in Pipestone Area win

EDGERTON — Brady Bos was dominant for Pipestone Area Monday as he tossed a one-hit compete game in the Arrows’ 5-1 nonconference win over Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian.

Bos surrendered just one run on one hit while striking out 12 in the Pipestone victory. Tyus Janssen got that one hit for the Flying Dutchmen.

Bos also led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Blake Wolters, Jacoby Hunt and Trav Thomssen had one hit each.

Blake VanDyke allowed four runs on five hits in the loss for E/SWC.

ADRIAN — A five-run first inning pushed Adrian to an 8-5 nonconference win over Jackson County Central in a sloppy game that featured 11 combined errors.

The Dragons tacked on a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to break away.

Cody Polzine got the win for Adrian, allowing just one earned run on two hits. Jordan Bertrand was 2-for-4 with two RBIs with Jake Diekmann-Bullerman finishing 2-for-3.

Nick Arp took the loss for the Huskies. Jordan Biehn was 2-for-2 with a double with Peter Nasby and Scott Christopher adding a two-bagger each.

WINDOM — Windom Area took advantage of five Mountain Lake Area errors Monday to take a 10-0 home win in five innings.

Joe Weineke gave up only two hits and fanned three for the win on the hill. Bryton Syverson was 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored with Jacob Gotto finished 2-for-2.

Austin Watkins got the loss for the Wolverines with Levi Jahnke and Josh Grev getting one hit each.

REDWOOD FALLS — Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove scored six of its seven runs in the first three innings to run away with a 7-2 non-conference win over Redwood Valley Monday.

Tyler Schoborg struck out nine in a complete game performance on the hill. Taylor Bunting finished the night 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs at the plate. Tyler Martius was 2-for-3.

The Falcons will take on Southwestern United today.

RUSSELL — Tracy-Milroy-Balaton freshman Spencer Smith came in with the bases loaded and nobody out in the fourth inning Monday. He struck out two and got out of the inning unscathed and the Panthers won 5-0 over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

Gavin VanMoer was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs. Jordan Towne was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
