Iowa softball: Sheldon has rough night in Sioux Center

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — It was an atypical long night for Sheldon Wednesday in Sioux Center.

The Warriors put four runs up in the first inning and led 6-0 going into the fourth. All that spelled out a 13-4 Siouxland Conference loss for the Orabs.

Trailing 6-0, Sheldon finally got a pair in the fourth. Sioux Center got right back on the offensive, however, putting up three more in its half of the inning.

Sami Kleinwolterink took the loss for the Orabs, allowing nine earned runs and striking out two. Megan Cleveringa struck out three in the win.

Abbi Meendering and Mackensey Radke had three hits apiece for the Orabs. Krista Bousema and Kati Kneifl had two.
