Prep hockey roundup: Worthington suffers loss on road

ST. PETER -- Trailing 3-0 after the first period, the Worthington girls' hockey team pitched a second-period shutout, but lost 6-0 Saturday afternoon to St. peter/LeSueur/Henderson.

Taylor Baumhoefner made 34 saves for Worthington, while the Trojan offense managed seven shots on goal.

Worthington will travel to Marshall Tuesday and Fairmont Thursday.

Windom Area 4, Waseca 3

WINDOM -- The Eagles built a 3-1 lead after the first period Friday in a girls' hockey game, and held on to a one-goal victory against visiting Waseca.

Brooklyn Drahota made 29 saves for Windom Area (10-4), while the Eagles managed a mere 18 shots on goal.

Josie Higley scored the first goal of the night for the Eagles, and after a Waseca goal, Sara Luhmann found the net twice to give WA a 3-1 lead after the first period.

Higley scored again in the second period, but that would be the last goal of the game for the Eagles.

Waseca scored twice in the third period, but fell short as the Eagles held on to a 4-3 victory.
