SWIF donates $25K to Honor Flight
The Southwest Initiative Foundation presented $25,000 to Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota Friday at the Rock County Courthouse Square, Luverne. The money was presented in honor of the 25th anniversary of the foundation with money from the Paul and Alma Schwan Aging Trust Fund, in order to fly World War II veterans to Washington D.C. to see the memorial built in their honor. Sixth- through eighth-graders pose with Nobles County Family Services social workers Monday at Worthington Middle School. The students are holding the 19 blankets they made through the school's Volunteer Optimist Kiwanis Kids and Students Against Destructive Decisions programs.
