Lowell and Ronni Feit of Luverne are among the many volunteers who helped fill more than 160 care packages that will be sent to  members of A Battery 1-125th Field Artillery Saturday morning at the Armory in Pipestone. The Feits' son, Seth, is among those serving with the National Guard unit, which is on a one-year deployment to Kuwait.

Christopher Paine led Allison Wernimont to an isolated area, dropped to one knee and proposed marriage following the ceremony honoring the return of 2168th Transportation Company troops at the NICC Friday afternoon in Sheldon, Iowa. Wernimont happily accepted the proposal.

The soldiers stopped for a break in Worthington and to meet up with the escort on their way home to LeMars and Sioux City, Iowa. They were greeted at the Blue Line Travel Center by family members and supporters, all anxious to offer hugs and thanks.
