Cindy Swart and Robyn Moser (at center) hold a check Tuesday that represents proceeds from the first GreatLIFE Worthington Swart/Moser Annual Couples Tournament, which took place July 23. The event offered an opportunity to once again have a couples golf tourney at the facility, as well as pay tribute to two men — Byron Swart and Ken Moser — who each lost their lives to cancer in recent months. The check, written in the amount of more than $2,200, is payable to Hospice Cottage Inc. (Tim Middagh/The Globe)

Prairie Elementary fourth-graders enjoy a day at Pipestone National Monument last week thanks to a field trip grant from the National Park Foundation as part of the foundation's Open OutDoors for Kids program. Each fourth-grade class got the chance to experience lessons about Native American myth and legend, geology and park etiquette prior to their field trip experience.
