WORTHINGTON — There are currently 19,000 Tesla cars on the road, and now, owners of the fully electric car can recharge in the region, including Worthington. “We actually just opened our 50th charging station in Murdo, S.D.,” said Patrick Jones, communications manager with Tesla Motors. “We’re expanding really quickly, and we’re planning to continue that expansion through 2014.” Worthington currently has the only supercharging station in Minnesota, according to a map provided by Tesla.

WORTHINGTON — In the final meeting of 2013, the Worthington City Council approved three new entrance signs, to be placed leading into town. The three signs will come at a cost of $73,547 and will be purchased from Fullerton Building Systems, Worthington. The edge of the sign will be a brick veneer, with the middle made of Dryvit. WORTHINGTON — A $100,000 fine was assessed against the Minnesota DFL Senate campaign by the state Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board earlier this week after it determined Democratic campaign organizations improperly worked together. The board found that 13 candidates coordinated photos for mailings sent out by the Senate committee. Included in the list of candidates is Worthington Mayor and former DFL Senate candidate Alan Oberloh. “I’ve come to find out afterward, there is something called Flickr, it’s like a holding area for photos,” Oberloh explained.
