Geraldine "Gerry" Brua, age 75, of Worthington, died Friday, October 24, 2008, at Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington. She was born May 3, 1933, in New Castle, PA, to George and Ethel (Tucker) Pisor. She graduated from New Castle High School in 1951. Gerry married Jack Brua on June 20, 1952, in New Castle, PA. After their marriage, the couple lived in New Castle. In 1967, the family moved to Worthington. Gerry & Jack managed Reefer Transit Line, in Worthington, before starting their own business, Brua Trucking.
Donald J. Kellen, 57, of Pipestone, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Ashton Care Center, Pipestone. Surviving are two sons, Michael (Jerri) Kellen, Flandreau, S.D., and Joe (Judy) Kellen, Watertown, S.D.; parents, Raphael and Rosemary Kellen, Woodstock; and three sisters, Diane (Robert) Draper, Tracy, Lois (Dean) Warner, Walnut Grove, and Mary Jo Kellen, Rochester. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at St. Martin Catholic Church, Woodstock. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church, Woodstock. John "Jack" D. Gerken, 87, of George, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, George. Surviving are his wife, Leota Gerken, George; eight children, John (Maria) Gerken, Doon, Iowa, Mary Gerken, May City, Iowa, Ruthie (Mark) Dickmann, George, Jackie Kruger, Fayetteville, N.C., Lori (Eldon) Sneller, Doon, Charlie (Georgia) Gerken, Sibley, Iowa, Cindy (Paul) Kruse, Renner, S.D., and Darwin (Brenda) Gerken, George; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.
Gwen Johnson, 49, of Worthington, formerly of Storden, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, with the Rev. Clinton Firstbrook III officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom.
Gertrude A. Veenhuis, 92, of Jackson, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at her home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Osterberg Funeral Home, Jackson, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Jackson. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Jackson, with the Rev. Eric Hullstrom officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Jackson.
Duane "Dewy" Wellendorf, 84, of Ashton, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at the Community Memorial Health Center, Hartley, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m., the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Jurrens Funeral Home, Ashton. The service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ashton, with the Rev. John Vakulskas and the Rev. Timothy Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ashton.
Velma Nelson, 80, of Windom, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Windom Area Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. A graveside memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Alden Cemetery, Alden, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating.

Lorraine Vanpeursem, 86, of Adrian, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Hoogland, Watertown, and Joan (Leo) Hendel, Adrian, four brothers, George (Doris) Berning, Luverne; Alvin (Gert) Berning, Adrian; Ed (Dolores) Berning, Adrian, and Jim (Rita) Berning, Owatonna; one sister, Marie Smeins, Luverne; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Adrian, and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Lismore. The service will be 1 p.m.
