Gerald "Jerie" Tams, 54, of Round Lake, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. Surviving are his wife, Debbie Tams, Round Lake; two sons, Jamie Tams, Round Lake, and Jesse Tams, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and one brother, Gordon (Barbara) Tolomeo, Rochester, N.Y. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Larry Brixius officiating. Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, is in charge of the arrangements.
George Wehmeyer was born on November 10, 1935 near Lake Park, Iowa to Henry and Ada Ruwe Wehmeyer. George grew up in Lake Park and attended Lake Park School. In 1960 George owned a gravel truck company and also served as Chief of Police in Lake Park. In 1960 he and Mary Jane Savage were married. They had three children Georgia, Allen and Brenda. In the early 1960's George worked for Louscher Motors in Lake Park. In 1972 he bought B and W Ford-Mercury in Sibley, IA with his business partner, Wayne Brown. George and Mary later divorced.
Arlene Helen Lintner, 71, of Show Low, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at Banner Thunderbird Hospital, Glendale, Ariz. Surviving are her husband, Glen Lintner; children, Dan (Carri) Lintner, Peoria, Ariz., Lucy Jackson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jan (Tom) Jeans, Selby, S.D., and Beth (Ron) Reinsma, Apple Valley; one sister, Frances (Jorgie) Jorgenson, Westbrook; one brother, Leo (RoeAnn) Vosberg, Westbrook; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The memorial service was at Grace Lutheran Church, Westbrook.
Robert Therkelsen, 88, of Windom, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Sogge Memorial Good Samaritan Society, Windom. Surviving are two daughters, Carol McNulty, Payson, Ariz., and Janet (Erwin) Niehaus, Grove City; one son, Stuart (Darlene) Therkelsen, Jeffers; one sister, Marilyn Pittman, Buffalo; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ethel Lundblad, Windom. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m., and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. The service will be 2 p.m.
Debra Engelsman Hunter, 54, of Pipestone, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service, Sheldon, Iowa. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service with the Rev. Greg Timmer officiating. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery, Sheldon.
Kathleen Ann Prahm, 71, of Slayton, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Surviving are six siblings, Gwen Hartlep, Fulda, Willard (Jane) Prahm, Shakopee, Elmer (Kay) Prahm, Boulder City, Nev., Robert (Dorothy) Prahm, Slayton, Virginia Payne, Minneapolis, and Leroy Prahm, Fulda. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Totzke Funeral Home, Slayton, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Slayton. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Slayton, with the Rev. Ted Kunze officiating.

Esther Villa, 97, of Storden, most recently of Windom, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Windom Area Hospital. Surviving are two children, Jim (JoAnn) Villa, Lake Mills, Iowa, and Karen (Dale) Iverson, St. Louis Park; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Storden. The service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Storden, with the Rev. Mark Swanson officiating.
Alvina "Vina" Friedman, 91, passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Grateful for sharing her life are her children; Cheri (Jim) Meert, Marge (Terry) Wassenaar, Don (Sheila) Friedman, Rick (Kathy) Friedman and daughter-in-law Doreen Friedman, all of Sioux Falls, SD; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Genevieve Diekmann, Worthington, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty, son, Rod and great granddaughter Grace Meert. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 at St.
Gerald B. Riemersma, age 86, of Worthington, died Thursday, October 9, at the Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington. He was born January 14, 1922, in Org, to parents, Bert and Ethel (Palmer) Riemersma. He attended school in Brewster and graduated from Brewster High School. After graduation, Gerald attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis. Gerald served his nation overseas, during WWII in the U.S. Army. After he was honorably discharged he drove truck and later farmed. On September 7, 1949, Gerald was united in marriage to Cleone Otto at the First Baptist Church in Worthington.
