Leona Huisenga, 82, of Sibley, Iowa, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Prairie View Nursing Home, Sanborn. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jurrens Funeral Home, Sibley. The service will be 11 a.m. Monday at United Church of Christ Congregational, Sibley, with the Rev. Larry Laskie officiating. A private family burial service will precede the service at Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley.
Sidney Hunter, 81, of Windom, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Worthington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, all at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, with the Rev. Arthur Miller officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Windom.
Luann Hecht, 50, of Jackson, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. Arrangements are pending with Osterberg Funeral Home, Jackson.
Gertrude M. Little, age 94, of Worthington, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage, in Worthington. She was born May 13, 1914, in Ransom Township, MN, to Julius and Marie (Marquardt) Fenske. Gertrude graduated from Bigelow High School in 1932. She was the only graduate in a class of one. Gertrude married Leslie Leemkuil on May 6, 1934, in Sanborn, IA. To this union one son, Lane, was born. Gertrude worked as a waitress. The couple later divorced. Gertrude married Irvin Little on February 3, 1949, in Ft. Dodge, IA.

Rose A. Hodapp, 88, of Sherburn, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Trimont Health Care Center, Trimont. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. scriptural prayer service, at Kramer Family Funeral Home, Sherburn, and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Sherburn. The service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Sherburn, with the Rev. Peter Schuster officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Madelia.
Gertrude M. Little, 94, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Sunset Hospice Cottage, Worthington. Surviving are two stepchildren, Tanya (Ron) Rudkin, Florida, and Dudley Little, Reno, Nev.; one brother, Willis (Clare Ann) Fenske, Worthington; one sister, Dolores Meier, Worthington; two grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many step great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington.
Mr. Gary Van Der Zwaag, age 70, of rural Hospers, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Newkirk Reformed Church, rural Hospers, with the Rev. David Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Newkirk Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home, Orange City. Gary Keith was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Orange City, the son of Bernard and Vaida (Kuiken) Van Der Zwaag. He was raised in the Newkirk area.
Thomas W. Lewis, 69, of Bloomington, passed away Sept. 27, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and two sisters. Tom was a practicing attorney for 38 years, serving the community of Windom, MN, as the city attorney for 14 years. He was active in community activities. Survived by wife, Carolyn; brother, Richard (Sue) Lewis; son, George (Patti) Lewis; daughter, Ann (Jeff) Schmidt; six grandchildren, Emma Schmidt, Jed Schmidt, Benjamin Lewis, Mandy Schmidt, Samantha Lewis and Jonah Schmidt; aunt, Sister Bibiana.
