Karen Harders, 52, of Corydon, formerly of Sibley, Iowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Wayne County Hospital, Corydon. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Randolph Funeral Home, Corydon. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Corydon. Burial will be in Shriver's Cemetery, Corydon.
Elma Roll, 98, of Windom, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Cemetery, Windom, with the Rev. Terry Frovik officiating.
Don Dressel, 67, of Spirit Lake, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Lakes Regional Healthcare, Spirit Lake. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m., at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake. The service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Solid Rock Assembly, Worthington, with Pastor Scott Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery, Round Lake.
James A. Boeve was born to Henry and Helen (Boscaljon) Boeve on October 3, 1955 in Sioux Center, IA. He was raised on the family farm near Rock Rapids, IA, and graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1973. He then enrolled at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. After graduating from college with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Business, Jim became employed at CIT Financial Services in Sioux Falls. On August 5, 1978, Jim was united in marriage to Marcia Van Helden at the First Reformed Church in Colton, SD.
Larry Lee Busch died peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at his home in Worthington, Minnesota, after battling cancer, he was 63. Larry was born on April 14, 1945, in Worthington, the son of Gaylord and Florence (DeFreeze) Busch. He spent his early years in Roseburg, Oregon, with his parents, where he graduated high school. Larry married Robin Wilson and they had a daughter, Tracey. After moving back to Worthington, Larry married Gladys Vogel, and they had a daughter, Kristina.
Janet D. Nelson, 67, of Beaver Creek, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Luverne. Surviving is one sister, Norma Gunderson, Valley Springs, S.D. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Luverne, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver Creek. The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver Creek, with the Rev. William Davis officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. Friday in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Esther M. McCullough, 86, of Emery, S.D., formerly of Salem, S.D., died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Salem. Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie (Ron) Joslin, Moreno, Calif., and Sharon (Harvey) Carroll, Fulda; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The service was 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Emery. Burial was in Bridgewater Cemetery. Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, was in charge of arrangements.
Margaret L. Van Stelton, 84, of Sibley, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Country View Manor, Sibley. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at Sibley Senior Citizens Center. The service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Sibley Senior Citizens Center with Bruce Van Stelton and Tim Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley. Jurrens Funeral Home, Sibley, is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Albert Kilker, 93, of Worthington, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington. Surviving are his wife, Lenor Kilker, Worthington; three children, Delores (Les) Janssen, Lakefield, Kaleen (Burdell) Christians, Fulda, and Galen "Buzz" (Peggy) Kilker, Parker, Colo.; two brothers, Ralph Kilker, and Don Kilker; and two sisters, Betty Taarud and Darlene Jungjohan; a half-brother, Don Kilker; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The service will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Worthington Christian Church with the Rev.
Thomas O. Palmer, 77, of Olympia Fields, formerly of Worthington, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, in Olympia Fields. Surviving is his wife, Betty Palmer, Olympia Fields; two sons, Larry (Anne) Palmer, Lone Tree, Colo., and Michael (Monica) Palmer, Apex, N.C.; and a daughter, Elizabeth Jones, Chicago Heights, Ill. The service is at 1 p.m. today at Smits, DeYoung-Vrough Funeral Home, South Holland, Ill.
