Aldora Louise Cochran, 86, of Slayton, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at the Golden Living Center, Slayton. Surviving are husband, Donald Cochran, Slayton; one son, Kraig (Jeanne) Cochran, Slayton; one brother, Ed Olson Sr., Madison; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Slayton. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Slayton, with the Rev. Jon Marburger officiating. Burial will be at Slayton Memorial Gardens.
Harlan Joe Puck was born January 1, 1916 in Sioux Valley, Minnesota, the son of George and Anna (Lage) Puck. He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1934 where he played basketball and later played on the alumni team. He started farming until being called to serve his country during World War II, from 1942-1945. He then took over the Puck family farm. Harlan was united in marriage to Betty Roth on May 29, 1950 in Ocheyedan, Iowa. They farmed for thirty years until son, Mark and Gayla took over. They were the fourth generation.
William John Moser, 48, of Bloomington, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008. Surviving are his wife, Melanie; one daughter, Lexi (Jake Hafften) Moser; mother, Vi Moser; siblings, Libby (Pat) Hayes, Maggie (Steven) Gray, Mike (Joan) Moser, Ken (Robyn) Moser and Melanie (Kurt Blume) Moser; and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Moser, and a sister, Monica. Memorials are preferred to the MS Society of Minnesota. Memorial service is Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior at Washburn-McReavy Werness Brothers Chapel, 2300 W.
Ralph Petersen, 84, of Luverne, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Luverne. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Luverne, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at American Reformed Church, Luverne. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at American Reformed Church, Luverne, with the Rev. David Sikkema officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
Karen Harders, 52, of Corydon, formerly of Sibley, Iowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Wayne County Hospital, Corydon. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Randolph Funeral Home, Corydon. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, Corydon. Burial will be in Shriver's Cemetery, Corydon.
Elma Roll, 98, of Windom, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Sanford Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom. The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Cemetery, Windom, with the Rev. Terry Frovik officiating.
Larry Lee Busch died peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at his home in Worthington, Minnesota, after battling cancer, he was 63. Larry was born on April 14, 1945, in Worthington, the son of Gaylord and Florence (DeFreeze) Busch. He spent his early years in Roseburg, Oregon, with his parents, where he graduated high school. Larry married Robin Wilson and they had a daughter, Tracey. After moving back to Worthington, Larry married Gladys Vogel, and they had a daughter, Kristina.
James A. Boeve was born to Henry and Helen (Boscaljon) Boeve on October 3, 1955 in Sioux Center, IA. He was raised on the family farm near Rock Rapids, IA, and graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1973. He then enrolled at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. After graduating from college with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Business, Jim became employed at CIT Financial Services in Sioux Falls. On August 5, 1978, Jim was united in marriage to Marcia Van Helden at the First Reformed Church in Colton, SD.
Don Dressel, 67, of Spirit Lake, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Lakes Regional Healthcare, Spirit Lake. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m., at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake. The service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Solid Rock Assembly, Worthington, with Pastor Scott Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery, Round Lake.
Margaret L. Van Stelton, 84, of Sibley, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Country View Manor, Sibley. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at Sibley Senior Citizens Center. The service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Sibley Senior Citizens Center with Bruce Van Stelton and Tim Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley. Jurrens Funeral Home, Sibley, is in charge of arrangements.
