Judith Kay Andringa Hulstein, 63, of Sheldon, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Sanford Sheldon Hospital. Surviving are one son, Rick (Lory) Hulstein, Cedar Falls, Iowa; one daughter, Elizabeth (Scott) Burke, Vancouver, Wash.; three brothers, Art (Bernita) Andringa, Terry (Emily) Andringa, both of Sheldon, and Larry (Lavonne) Andringa, Sibley, Iowa; one sister, Mary (LeRoy) DeUnger, Highland, Ill.; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m., at Andringa Funeral Home, Sheldon Funeral Service. The service will be 10:30 a.m.
Larry Busch, 63, of Worthington, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Benson Funeral Home, Worthington.
Richard Jenkins, 73, of Bayport, formerly of Windom, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, in Bayport. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at LaCanne Family Funeral Home, Windom, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Windom. The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, Windom, with the Rev. Hugh Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Windom.
Elden Wayne Rance, 70, of North Port, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008. Elden was born on June 13, 1938, in Egeland, North Dakota to Charles and Bernice (Hall) Rance. His successful career in banking and finance began with First Bank System (now US Bank) in Minot, North Dakota. From an entry level beginning, intuition and training served him well through positions in Huron, Madison and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Brian Clarence Buhner, 60, of Pipestone, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his home. Surviving are his wife, Sally Buhner; sons, Brian Buhner, Pipestone; Theodore (Krysta) Buhner, Worthington; Bill Buhner, Pipestone; one grandchild; and mother, Dolores Buhner, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Harquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel, Pipestone. The service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Hartquist Funeral Home, Pipestone Chapel, Pipestone. Burial will be in the Old Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.
Karen Ann Peterson, age 57, of St. Paul, formerly of Worthington, passed away peacefully August 30, 2008. Karen was a 1973 graduate of Bethel College, worked at the Salvation Army, Augustana Lutheran Crossroads Preschool, and the ECFE program at St. Paul Public Schools. Karen was also a faithful member of Central Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Gordon Soderholm. Survived by mother, Pearl Soderholm; husband, William; children, Rachel, Joshua, and Rebekah; siblings, Janice (Craig) Ebeling, Charles (Janine) Soderholm; and many nieces and nephews.
Gusta Groenewold, 94, of Sibley, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at the Country View Manor, Sibley. Surviving are three sons; Earl "Bud" (Shirley) Groenewold, Mankato; Richard "Dick" (Diann) Groenewold of Boise, Idaho; and Robert "Bob" (Lisa) Groenewold, Sioux Falls, S.D.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Jurrens Funeral Home, Sibley. The service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley, with the Rev. Scott Meyer officiating.
Lillian Iverson, 82, of Fulda, formerly of Heron Lake, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Heron Lake. The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Heron Lake, with the Rev. Daniel Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Heron Lake. Hansen Funeral Home, Heron Lake, is handling the arrangements.
Edna Anna Marie Leister, age 95, of Worthington, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born December 13, 1912 in Bordin, Minnesota in Slayton County. She was the daughter of Edward and Dorothea (Schwede) Monke. Edna attended school in LeMars, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Henry Leister on April 13, 1935 and lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for several years where she worked for Montgomery Ward. She moved to Worthington, Minnesota in 1962 and lived with her mother and brother, Virgil Monke.
