WORTHINGTON -- I spend a fair amount of my free time reading up on issues related to the outdoors and hunting. I have a high desire to stay knowledgeable on what I think are vital issues to the American sportsman. I also receive many e-mails from different government organizations and conservation groups that share tidbits that you don't normally hear about. The piece that can across my desk this week, disappointed me greatly. I became aware of the fact that 24,642 individuals were caught trespassing on railroad property last year.

WORTHINGTON -- With all the rain that we have been having lately, it brings to mind the saying, "just like water off a duck". This really does seem to be perfect weather for a duck. It's just too bad that Southwest Minnesota doesn't really have any ducks. The two times I have been out I shot three shells and bagged two ducks. This is not what would be called good duck hunting. I saw almost no waterfowl in the sky anywhere these mornings. I did come across a really interesting duck hunting story this week and wanted to pass it on to you.
LAKEFIELD -- In the spring of 1968, the Twin Cities rock band T.C. Atlantic played at Windom High School's prom. The band had one hit record that just creeped into the Top 40.
