MARSHALL -- The Pipestone Area Arrows are going back to the Minnesota state softball tournament. The Arrows, who won a Class AA consolation championship in 2016, defeated New London-Spicer 4-1 in the finals of the Section 3AA tournament Thursday in Marshall, and will take a 24-1 record into this year’s big show.
Taylor Eggers placed among the top five in two events, Obang Ojulu finished among the top six in two more, and Eh Kyoo was second in the 100-meter dash for the Worthington Trojans Wednesday on the first day of the Section 2AA track and field meet at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Kyoo toured the boys 100 in 11.33. Eggers was third in the gilrs 200-meter dash in a 26.31 time, and she placed fifth in the long jump with a 15-5.25 leap. Ojulu was fourth in the boys 300-meter hurdles in 41.21. He was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.87.

The Worthington Trojans high school baseball team will continue in the Section 2AAA, First Four Tournament today (Saturday) in New Ulm. Worthington will play Mankato East at 11 a.m. at Johnson Park. The winner of that game will play Faribault at 1 p.m. for the right to advance. Worthington defeated Waseca 6-5 on Thursday before taking its first loss in the tournament, 1-0, to Faribault.
